Pep Hamilton is a couple of weeks into his tenure as the Colts’ offensive coordinator.
His first extended comments on what he wants to bring to the club came today.
After serving for three successful seasons at Stanford, the final two as coordinator, Hamilton relishes the chance to coach football full-time.
Hamilton particularly likes joining the Colts, saying it is a chance to win the championship of all championships.
He envisions a wide-range offense that could include elements of the wildcat, read-option and pistol attacks. He mentioned influences in his coaching past such as Norv Turner. Turner came from the Don Coryell school of attacking the field.
Hamilton wants a varied approach that emphasizes the strengths of players and cites “poise, speed and execution” as musts.
