I can’t believe this either! He was so MUCH apart of #Chuckstrong and did a good job on the field. The fans will NOT like this Coach Pagano!!!!!

Seriously folks, the all-pro Landry will be starting opposite of Bethea. Pretty darn good move. Lefredve is the reserve.

Releasing a sub-par safety to make some cap room for a much better safety (Reed) or a first round draft pick?

    I’m okay with this.

Does anybody even pay attention? Zbikowski may be a “good guy”, but he was terrible on the field and he just got replaced by LaRon Landry. There’s no point in paying him at the salary he has to be a backup. They will grab more depth later in free agency or draft some developmental guys on the cheap.

    Agreed

We’ll be ok we signed Landry and there is no reason to sign Reed he is to old and is going to ask for to much. We should look into getting a wide out(Heyward-Bey is still out there if the price is right).Draft a good young safety(Mathieu). He was a Heisman finalist..

i agree with that, only good thing i see with Reed, is he can bring a leadership and experience on defense the colts have never really had.But money would be the biggest issue…. I’m sure we can find a good receiver in the draft. Ty Hilton worked out great

People obviously don’t pay attention. We just signed Laron Landry to replace him the other day. He was a pro bowler last year. While Tommy Z may be alright on special teams (as well as being a generally good guy), he seemed to be lacking the play we need back there. In fact, I constantly felt as if Antoine Bethea was overplaying (trying to make up for lack of production from Zibby) his position. Well done staff! Good luck to Tommy wherever he goes.

We can pick up jamoris slaughter and an undrafted free agent. Kid played every where in the secondary for the Irish. He could learn from bethea and Landry. We need to get a big time linebacker. We have always lacked in that department.

Yes I like the way you think, heywood bay on the cheap would be a terrific move.

Thank you, I was starting to think Colts fans were stupid.

peace, nvr liked him anyways. He was a backup player starting last yr. The only reason Pagano brought him over was to help the younger guys with that style D from 4-3 to hybrid 3-4. Look at stats above, it says it all.

Zibby would have been a fine back up/special teams stand out, and a great, selfless teammate. However, his lack of speed was painfully eveident in the play off game. Tight ends were leaving him in their wake. He looked like he was running through water. I know he was coming off a knee injury, but I feel he just isn’t fast enough to start or play meaningful minutes for this defense. That said, I wish we would have kept him. He’s a quality person and I loved watching him head hunt when he wore a Golden Dome for a hat.

This decision is one of the dumbest they have had in years, only second to releasing Pierre Garcon.
