Analysis: An undefeated month of September came as a surprise to many NFL pundits and the successful start would not be sustained through the 2012 season. After starting 4-0, Arizona won just one game the rest of the season and former Colts interim head coach Bruce Arians has taken over the helm in Arizona.
Arians will have a veteran quarterback in Palmer to carry out his big play mantra that Colts fans got used to during BA’s one season as play caller in Indianapolis. The Cardinals will have to be able to put up points in a division that might be the league’s best at the top. Mendenhall was Arians’ running back during their time together in Pittsburgh and if the former first rounder can stay healthy, he should be the main back out in Arizona.
The Cardinals brought in some veteran defensive players that will have to mesh quickly in order to defend some of the most exotic offenses in the league that reside in the NFC West. Expect offensive line to be the choice at No. 7 in Thursday’s NFL Draft with guard or tackle being a viable option.
