No matter how many times it happens, Andrew Luck still gets giddy when watching Reggie Wayne or T.Y. Hilton makes an impressive catch.
“I still get excited,” Luck said. “I don’t know if it makes me look good or bad. It’s still a completion. That’s what matters.”
For any quarterback, a welcoming sight is a receiver that can make the difficult catches become almost routine.
“It’s nice when you develop that feeling, you know, if I throw this ball up I know that our guy is going to go up as hard as he can, and there’s a great chance for him to make the play,” Luck said. “Those catches are special. Just because it seems to happen over and over again now, it doesn’t make it lose its luster. I guys you do sort of come to expect it from those guys.”

The scenery has changed but the mindset has not.
The Colts have eight days left for their final two preseason games and it’s all about preparing for the gauntlet of an NFL season.
“It feels like home and everybody’s ready to get [to the] in-season routine. And even though we’re treating this week like that, we’re still at camp,” Chuck Pagano repeated. “As I just told [the players], it may look like West 56th [Street], but treat it like you’re still at Anderson.
“We’re still in training-cap mode. This is no time to get complacent. We took a big step this past weekend [with a 20-12 preseason win over the New York Giants]. We certainly don’t want to take a step backwards. So we’re still in training-camp mode. And that’s the mindset we’ve got to have.”
According to quarterback Andrew Luck, the coach’s message got through loud and clear.
“We’re still in that training-camp mentality. We’re still trying to grind as much as we can during the day. And, honestly, we are focused on the Browns. We’re trying to make this as much of a game like it would be during the season,” Luck said.
