INDIANAPOLIS COLTS MAKE ROSTER MOVES
Posted by on August 27, 2013 – 11:22 amThe Indianapolis Colts today waived-injured wide receiver Nathan Palmer, placed safety John Boyett on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list and moved linebacker Josh McNary to an exempt status on the roster.
If Palmer clears waivers, he will revert to the Colts Injured Reserve list. McNary’s exemption is under the Reserve/Military rules where the player reported after June 1, 2013 and has not played in any preseason games.
With the moves today, the Colts have reached the league-mandated 75-man active roster.
Palmer was signed by the Colts off the San Francisco 49ers practice squad on September 24, 2012. Last season, he caught one pass in five games played.
Boyett was selected by the Colts in the sixth round (192nd overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. At Oregon, he appeared in 40 games (35 starts) and totaled 278 tackles (182 solo), 30 passes defensed, 10 interceptions, including one returned for a touchdown, and a half of a sack.
McNary was signed by the Colts as a free agent on April 11, 2013. At Army, he totaled 195 tackles (117 solo), 49.0 tackles for loss, 28.0 sacks, nine passes defensed, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries in 46 games played. Following his graduation from West Point, McNary was commissioned as an officer in the Army, which prevented him from being selected in the 2011 NFL Draft.
