The Indianapolis Colts today signed wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers to the practice squad and waived wide receiver Nathan Palmer from Injured Reserve with an injury settlement.
Rogers, 6-3, 205 pounds, was first signed by the Buffalo Bills as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2013 before being waived on August 26. In three collegiate seasons, he posted 139 receptions for 2,100 yards and 21 touchdowns in 36 games played. Rogers played two seasons at the University of Tennessee (2010-11) before transferring to Tennessee Tech for one year (2012).
As a sophomore in 2011, Rogers started all 12 games and led the Southeastern Conference with 67 receptions for 1,040 yards and ranked second with nine receiving touchdowns. He became just the sixth player in Tennessee history to post a 1,000-yard receiving season en route to earning Associated Press First Team All-SEC honors. As a junior in 2012, Rogers tied the Tennessee Tech single-season record for receiving touchdowns (10), while finishing third in receptions (61) and fourth in receiving yards (893).
Palmer was signed by the Colts off the San Francisco 49ers practice squad on September 24, 2012. Last season, he caught one pass in five games played.
