The Indianapolis Colts today signed wide receiver Da’Rick Rogers and running back Kerwynn Williams to the practice squad and released wide receiver Danny Coale and running back Miguel Maysonet from the practice squad.
Rogers was originally signed to the Colts practice squad on September 2, 2013 and was elevated to the active roster on September 19 before being waived on September 24. In three collegiate seasons, he posted 139 receptions for 2,100 yards and 21 touchdowns in 36 games played. Rogers played two seasons at the University of Tennessee (2010-11) before transferring to Tennessee Tech for one year (2012).
Williams was selected by the Colts in the seventh round (230th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. At Utah State, he finished seventh in school history with 2,515 rushing yards on 382 carries. He also totaled 22 rushing touchdowns and five receiving touchdowns. Williams’ 6.6 yards per carry average ranks fifth in school annals and his 22 rushing touchdowns ranks seventh all-time.
Coale, 6-0, 187 pounds, was signed to the Colts practice squad on September 19, 2013. He was originally selected by the Dallas Cowboys in the fifth round (152nd overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft out of Virginia Tech. Coale spent a majority of the 2012 season on the Cowboys practice squad before he was placed on Injured Reserve on November 26, 2012.
Maysonet, 5-10, 210 pounds, was signed to the Colts practice squad on September 16, 2013. He was originally signed by the Philadelphia Eagles as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2013 before being waived on May 20. Maysonet was then acquired from waivers by the Cleveland Browns the following day and waived on August 30.
