The Indianapolis Colts today waived fullback Robert Hughes from the active roster and released running back Kerwynn Williams from the practice squad. The team will also place running back Ahmad Bradshaw on Injured Reserve.

Hughes was signed by the Colts on September 30, 2013 and appeared in one game this season, catching one pass for six yards. In 2012, he played in five games (one start) with the team and recorded one rush for five yards and one reception for three yards.

Williams was selected by the Colts in the seventh round (230th overall) of the 2013 NFL Draft. He appeared in one game this season, returning one kickoff for 28 yards.

Bradshaw was signed by the Colts as a free agent on June 11, 2013. He played in three games (two starts) this season, rushing 41 times for 186 yards and two touchdowns, while catching seven passes for 42 yards. In Week 3 at San Francisco, Bradshaw recorded 19 carries for 95 yards and a touchdown in the Colts’ 27-7 victory.

Which RB are we planning on filling the empty roster spot with?

Michael Stover, we have Trent as our starter and Donald Brown as his back up.

TR hasn’t shown anything yet, but I understand he has to get comfortable with the system. DB needs to be starting.

I knew Bradshaw was hurt bad when he started twitching and then took a knee…. I told my wife, That’s a pinched nerve or something, in his neck. I was amazed to see him finish the game. Hope it isn’t career ending.

How has Trent not shown anything? He’s only 3 weeks in and he helped secure the win Sunday with some nice runs.

Alex, I understand that we have Trent and Donald, however that seems to be all we have, unless Havili is no longer injured?.. We’re not going to be carrying 2 RB’s

TR had 5.1 yards per carry in the 2nd half of the seahawks game.

Roach, Williams and Hughes only played in one game each this season, so I don’t think it will hurt too bad. Losing Bradshaw sucks though. That dude is a beast! Richardson will get it together though and Brown is a great backup.

So the only thing Williams did for us was do something right and he is gone. Yes that makes total sense.

Uh this team has had problems with special teams for years and we let go of a guy that returned a kickoff for 28 yards ?

we signed a RB off the Benglas practice squad that is pretty good and we signedOLB studebaker that played for the chiefs before, hes a hard worker, and they need to cut Reed, hes taking out kicks that are leaving us in bad field position

Having TR on the line is causing the oposition to tighten up on the line.. This is giving Luck more targets down field.. Some of the reasons youre not seeing TR get big yards is, our offensive line falls in on him as soon as he gets to the hole.. But, just having him standing behind Luck is helping.. He’s like a NUKE.. Just having him causes problems for the other side..

I thought Kerwyn Williams was our #3 RB for sure. The following are just my personal opinions. #1) He can return kicks better than David Reed on Special Teams. #2) Williams was already familiar with the Colts Offensive Playbook, Herron will have to start fresh and learn it just like Trent had to. #3) Williams was fast running out of the backfield and had great ability to catch the football. It will be so sad to see Kerwyn Williams be extremely productive for another NFL team. But we’ll see how Herron comes along with our system. Hope for the best…GO COLTS!

Why is nobody talking about Vic Ballard and his future. Sure he’s injured but what about next year? Every one is sooooo sad to see Bradshaw go, as am I, but have we forgotten about Ballard already? Just once, I want to hear someone say “I miss Ballard”. Fine I’ll do it. I miss Ballard.
