Eye on the Prize: Week 8 AFC South Standings

Each week Colts.com will take a look at the rest of the AFC South and review the previous weekend’s games.

Here is a look after Week Seven:

Chiefs 17, Texans 16

-Case Kennum made his first NFL start and threw for 271 yards and a touchdown but it was not enough. Kansas City built a 17-16 lead with 4:21 to go in the third quarter and from then on out the stellar Chiefs defense dominated. Keenum was sacked five times and Houston running back Arian Foster left the game in the first quarter after four carries for 11 yards.

49ers 31, Titans 17

-The visiting 49ers jumped out to a 24-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Tennessee had Jake Locker back in the starting lineup but that didn’t matter with San Francisco dominating the first three quarters. Locker threw for 326 yards and two touchdowns but was also sacked three times and picked off once. San Francisco held Titans running back Chris Johnson to 39 rushing yards on just nine carries.

Chargers 24, Jaguars 6

-The Jaguars head to London this weekend still searching for their first win. San Diego built a 17-6 late third quarter lead but any comeback from the home Jaguars was quickly put to rest. Jacksonville quarterback Chad Henne threw for 318 yards but was sacked six times with receiver Mike Brown catching five balls for 120 yards. Maurice Jones-Drew carried the ball just nine times for 37 yards.
