The Indianapolis Colts today agreed to terms with unrestricted free agent safety Colt Anderson.
Anderson, 5-10, 194 pounds, appeared in 48 games (six starts) over the past four seasons (2010-13) with the Philadelphia Eagles and recorded 47 tackles (33 solo), four passes defensed, one interception, two forced fumbles and 46 special teams stops. He appeared in 14 games in 2013 and led the team with a career-high 16 special teams tackles. In 2012, Anderson started the final four games at safety and posted a team-high 36 tackles during that span. He was also named the Eagles 2012 Ed Block Courage Award recipient.
Anderson was originally signed by the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Montana in 2009. He was then signed by the Eagles off the Vikings practice squad on November 10, 2010. Anderson finished his college career at Montana ranked fifth on the school’s all-time list with 313 tackles. He also registered 17 passes defensed, 14.5 tackles for loss, eight interceptions, three fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles and 1.0 sack.
