The Indianapolis Colts today signed inside linebacker Andrew Jackson.
Jackson was selected by the Colts in the sixth round (203rd overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. Jackson appeared in 37 career games (33 starts) at Western Kentucky University and recorded 326 tackles (174 solo), 6.5 sacks, 43.0 tackles for loss, one interception, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and four passes defensed. He became the 10th player in school history to record at least 300 career tackles and his total ranked 14th among active NCAA FBS players.
Jackson competed in the 2014 East-West Shrine Game and earned All-Sun Belt Conference first-team honors in two consecutive seasons (2011 and 2012). In 2012, he tallied 122 total tackles, which ranks first for a WKU player during the school’s Football Bowl Subdivision era (since 2009). As a senior in 2013, Jackson earned All-Sun Belt Conference second-team accolades after competing in 11 games (nine starts) and finishing the season ranked second on the team with 95 tackles, in addition to 1.0 sack, 8.5 tackles for loss and two passes defensed.
