The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent defensive end Gannon Conway and placed defensive end Fili Moala on Injured Reserve.
Conway, 6-4, 280 pounds, was originally signed by the Miami Dolphins as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2014 before being waived on May 16. In 30 career games (14 starts) at Arizona State, he recorded 51 tackles (33 solo), nine tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks and two passes defensed. As a senior in 2013, Conway earned Honorable Mention All-Pac-12 recognition after starting all 14 games and posting 38 tackles (24 solo), seven tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks and two passes defensed. In 2012, he totaled nine tackles (six solo) and 1.0 sack in 10 games played.
Moala was re-signed by the Colts on March 11, 2014. In 2013, he tied a career-high with 26 tackles (13 solo), while also recording 1.5 sacks, one pass defensed and one fumble recovery in 16 games played (six starts). For his career, he has competed in 64 games (45 starts) and has totaled 112 tackles (67 solo), 3.5 sacks, three passes defensed and two fumble recoveries. He has also started one postseason game and contributed with two solo tackles.
