The Indianapolis Colts today claimed cornerback Brandon Burton off waivers (Cincinnati) and waived guard Marcus Hall.
Burton, 6-0, 185 pounds, has played in 19 career games with the Minnesota Vikings and Buffalo Bills, totaling five tackles and one pass defensed. He was most recently signed by the Cincinnati Bengals on December 30, 2013 and was waived on June 11, 2014. In 2013, Burton recorded two tackles and one pass defensed in five games with the Bills. He was originally selected by the Vikings in the fifth round (139th overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft and competed in 14 games before being waived on August 31, 2013. Burton played three collegiate seasons at Utah and notched 18 career passes defensed, which is tied for ninth place in school history.
Hall was originally signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2014. He started 31-of-46 games at Ohio State, including 25 as a junior and senior, during which time the Buckeyes set a school-record winning streak of 24 consecutive games. As a fifth-year senior, Hall started 13-of-14 games and was named an All-Big Ten honorable mention selection
