INDIANAPOLIS COLTS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

The Indianapolis Colts today activated safety LaRon Landry from the Exempt/Commissioner Permission list and activated tackle Xavier Nixon from Injured Reserve/Designated for Return. The team waived cornerback Jalil Brown and tackle Jamon Meredith from the active roster and waived fullback Stanley Havili from Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform (Failed Physical).

The Colts also agreed to sign wide receiver Eric Thomas to the practice squad and released wide receiver Chandler Jones from the practice squad.

Landry started the first four games of this season and registered 25 tackles (19 solo) and 1.0 sack. For his career, he has totaled 654 tackles (480 solo), 42 passes defensed, 10 forced fumbles, 6.5 sacks, six interceptions and five fumble recoveries in 96 games (95 starts). Landry has also posted 17 tackles (13 solo) and two interceptions in three postseason starts. He was originally signed by the Colts as an unrestricted free agent on March 13, 2013.

Nixon was signed by the Colts off the Washington Redskins practice squad on September 24, 2013 and appeared in four games, making one start last season. He was placed on Injured Reserve/Designated for Return on September 2, 2014 and returned to practice on October 15. Nixon was originally signed by the Redskins as an undrafted free agent out of Florida, where he appeared in 46 games and made 33 starts on the offensive line.

Brown was signed by the Colts on September 30, 2014 and appeared in two games this season. He also played in five games for the Colts in 2013, making two tackles. For his career, Brown has recorded 24 solo tackles and 14 special teams stops in 36 games (two starts).

Meredith was signed by the Colts as a free agent on September 2, 2014. He appeared in four games and was inactive for four games this season. For his career, Meredith has played in 51 career games (24 starts) with the Colts (2014), Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2012-13), Pittsburgh Steelers (2011), New York Giants (2010) and Buffalo Bills (2009-2010).

Havili was acquired by the Colts in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles on March 28, 2013 and posted career highs of 18 receptions for 128 yards and a touchdown last season. He was then placed on the Reserve/Physically Unable to Perform list on August 26, 2014. For his career, Havili has totaled 13 rushes for 29 yards and a touchdown as well as 25 receptions for 171 yards and a score in 28 games (10 starts).

Thomas, 6-1, 225 pounds, was originally signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Troy University on May 12, 2014 and was waived on August 25. He then played for the Omaha Mammoths of the FXFL where he caught four passes for 101 yards and a touchdown in two games played. Thomas finished his Troy career ranked third all-time in school history with 197 receptions, third with 2,655 career receiving yards and second with 29 touchdown receptions. He is the Sun Belt Conference’s all-time leader in career touchdown receptions.

Jones was first signed to the Colts practice squad on September 30, 2014, was released on October 21 and was signed back to the practice squad on October 28. He was originally signed by the Cleveland Browns as an undrafted free agent on May 12, 2014 and was waived on August 4. Jones set career records at San Jose State for receptions (248), receiving yards (3,087) and touchdown receptions (29).
