The Indianapolis Colts today announced that David Williams has been promoted to the team’s Conditioning/Performance Analyst.
“Dave has been at the forefront of this new technology dating back to college, and he has done an excellent job acting as the liaison who collects and disseminates our Catapult GPS tracking information to our strength staff and coaches,” said General Manager Ryan Grigson. “It was a total team effort by our strength staff, trainers and our coaches in achieving results this regular season in which we saw a drastic reduction in the number of players placed on Injured Reserve compared to previous regular seasons (2012-8, 2013-13, 2014-3).”
Williams spent the last three seasons (2012-14) as the Colts’ strength and conditioning intern. In 2011, he was a sport scientist graduate assistant in the Human Performance Lab at the University of Central Florida. Williams was a four-year (2007-2010) defensive end at UCF and earned All-Conference USA Honorable Mention as a senior in 2010. He also served as a strength and conditioning intern at the school in 2009. Williams graduated from UCF with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in coaching and a master’s degree in health and applied exercise physiology. He is originally from Lexington, S.C.
