The Indianapolis Colts today signed unrestricted free agent wide receiver Vincent Brown.
Brown, 5-11, 190 pounds, was originally selected by the San Diego Chargers in the third round (82nd overall) of the 2011 NFL Draft. In 37 career games (16 starts) with the Chargers (2011-13) and Oakland Raiders (2014), he has totaled 72 receptions for 919 yards and three touchdowns. Following an ankle injury which caused him to miss the 2012 season, Brown returned the following year to compete in all 16 games (12 starts) and total 41 catches for 472 yards and one score. His teammates voted him as the Ed Block Courage Award winner for his performance that year. Brown spent the 2014 campaign with the Raiders and finished with 12 catches for 118 yards in seven games.
Brown was a First Team All-Mountain West Conference selection as a senior in 2010 at San Diego State where he recorded the school’s fourth-best receiving season (1,342 yards). He helped lead the Aztecs to their first bowl win since 1969 with a 35-14 victory against Navy in the Poinsettia Bowl. Brown’s 23 career touchdowns rank fifth in school history while his 13 career 100-yard games are tied for the school record.
