The Indianapolis Colts today elevated running back Zurlon Tipton to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and waived defensive end Earl Okine.
The team also reached an injury settlement with cornerback Sheldon Price, who was waived by the team on September 25. After passing through waivers, Price was placed on Indianapolis’ Injured Reserve list. The settlement with Price takes him off the Injured Reserve list.
Tipton, 6-0, 230 pounds, was signed to the Colts practice squad on September 15, 2015. He played in six games for the Colts in 2014 and finished his rookie year with 10 carries for 18 yards and six receptions for 68 yards and one touchdown. He saw action in all three postseason contests and registered 18 carries for 68 yards and one touchdown. Tipton also caught three passes for 22 yards in the playoffs.
Okine, 6-6, 290 pounds, was signed by the Colts as a free agent on March 3, 2015. He played in three games for Indianapolis in 2015 and registered three tackles. Okine previously spent time with the Brooklyn Bolts (Fall Experimental Football League), Orlando Predators (Arena Football League) and Calgary Stampeders (Canadian Football League).
Price, 6-2, 198 pounds, spent each of the last three seasons with the Colts. He played in two games for Indianapolis in 2015 and registered one tackle. Price spent time on the team’s active roster and practice squad in 2013 and 2014.
