INDIANAPOLIS COLTS MAKE ROSTER MOVE

The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent cornerback Shaun Prater.

Prater, 5-10, 190 pounds, was originally signed by the Colts as a free agent on September 29, 2015 and was waived on October 2. He has played in 19 career NFL games (three starts) and registered six tackles, seven passes defensed, one interception and five special teams tackles. In 2014, he saw action in 10 games for the Minnesota Vikings and tallied two special teams tackles. Prater played in one game for the Philadelphia Eagles in 2013 before being waived on October 21, 2013. The Vikings claimed him off waivers the next day and he went on to play in eight games (three starts) and total six tackles, seven passes defensed, one interception and three special teams tackles. Prater was originally selected by the Cincinnati Bengals in the fifth round (156th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft. He spent his rookie season on the Bengals Injured Reserve list before being waived on August 31, 2013 and claimed off waivers by the Eagles the next day.

The Indianapolis Colts today signed cornerback Tay Glover-Wright to the practice squad and released tight end Sean McGrath from the practice squad.

Glover-Wright, 6-0, 180 pounds, spent time with the Green Bay Packers during the team’s 2015 training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 5, 2015. He originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons on May 12, 2014. Glover-Wright spent training camp with the Falcons before being waived on August 24, 2014. He was signed to the Packers practice squad on October 6, 2014 and spent the final 11 weeks of the regular season and both postseason contests on the practice squad. Glover-Wright re-signed with Green Bay on January 20, 2015 before being waived at the end of training camp.

Collegiately, Glover-Wright played two seasons at Utah State. He played in 27 games (11 starts) for the Aggies and finished with 69 tackles (40 solo), 1.0 sack, 10 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Glover-Wright also contributed 105 rushing yards on 20 carries (5.3 avg.). As a senior in 2013, he started 10-of-14 games and registered 52 tackles (31 solo), 5.0 tackles for loss and ranked second on the team with 10 passes defensed. Glover-Wright also returned 19 kickoffs for 429 yards (22.6 avg.), which ranked sixth in the Mountain West Conference. In 2012, he saw action in all 13 games (one start) and totaled 17 tackles (nine solo). Glover-Wright also added 12 rushes of 66 yards (5.5 avg.). Prior to transferring to Utah State, he spent two seasons at Eastern Arizona Community College (2011) and Highland (Kan.) Community College (2010). Glover-Wright threw for 158 yards and two touchdowns, rushed for 684 yards and one touchdown, and tallied 20 receptions for 461 yards (23.1 avg.) and four touchdowns over his junior college career. He also registered nine kick returns for 243 yards (27.0 avg.) and a 98-yard touchdown return.

McGrath, 6-5, 259 pounds, was signed to the team’s practice squad on September 22, 2015. He spent the 2015 offseason and all of training camp with the Colts before being waived during final cuts on September 5. McGrath has played in 18 career NFL games (nine starts) and has caught 26 passes for 302 yards (11.6 avg.) and two touchdowns. He has also appeared in three postseason contests.

The Indianapolis Colts today released quarterback Josh Johnson.

Johnson, 6-3, 210 pounds, was signed by the Colts as a free agent on October 2. He was active but did not play in the team’s Week 4 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Johnson has played in 29 career NFL games (five starts) and completed 96-of-177 passes for 1,042 yards with five touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He has spent time with the San Francisco 49ers, Cincinnati Bengals, Cleveland Browns and Tampa Bay Buccaneers since being selected by the Buccaneers in the fifth round (160th overall) of the 2008 NFL Draft.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS MAKE PRACTICE SQUAD MOVE

The Indianapolis Colts today signed defensive end Earl Okine to the practice squad.

Okine, 6-6, 290 pounds, played in three games (Weeks 1-3) for Indianapolis in 2015 and registered three tackles before being waived on October 1. He saw action with the Brooklyn Bolts of the Fall Experimental Football League (FXFL) in 2014, where he helped the team to a 4-0 mark. Okine also played for the Orlando Predators of the Arena Football League (AFL) in 2014 and totaled 28 tackles (16 solo), 7.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, three passes defensed and one fumble recovery in 16 games. Prior to joining the Predators, he spent time with the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League (CFL). Collegiately, Okine appeared in 41 career games at the University of Florida and finished with 27 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack, one blocked field goal and one pass defensed.
