INDIANAPOLIS COLTS MAKE PRACTICE SQUAD MOVES

The Indianapolis Colts today signed linebacker Josh Martin to the practice squad and released safety Sean Baker from the practice squad.

Martin, 6-3, 245 pounds, played in two games (Weeks 3-4) with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers before being released on October 14. He signed with the Buccaneers as a free agent on September 22. Martin has played in 21 games (one start) in his NFL career and registered 14 tackles (10 solo), 0.5 sacks, one forced fumble and 13 special teams tackles. In 2014, he played in 14 games for the Kansas City Chiefs and finished with five tackles (two solo), 0.5 sacks and 10 special teams tackles. Martin appeared in five regular season games (one start) and one playoff contest for the Chiefs in 2013 and tallied nine tackles (eight solo), one forced fumble and three special teams tackles as a rookie. He also spent time on the team’s practice squad. Martin was originally signed by the Kansas City Chiefs as an undrafted free agent on May 1, 2013.

Collegiately, Martin played in 30 games for Columbia University and tallied 140 tackles (85 solo), 29.5 tackles for loss, 17.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries and two passes defensed. He earned First Team Ivy League honors as a senior and was named Ivy League Co-Defensive Player of the Week after a 3.0-sack performance in his team’s Empire State Bowl win over Cornell.

Baker, 6-0, 209 pounds, was signed to the Colts practice squad on October 29. He has played in five games over his NFL career and tallied two tackles. Baker originally entered the league as an undrafted free agent with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2013.
