The Indianapolis Colts today waived cornerback Tony Carter and placed defensive tackle Henry Anderson on the Injured Reserve list.
Carter, 5-9, 175 pounds, signed with the team as a free agent on October 20, 2015. He played in three games and saw action mostly on special teams. Carter has participated in 45 career regular season games (three starts) and five playoff contests with Indianapolis, Denver and New England. He has totaled 42 tackles (37 solo), 22 passes defensed, three interceptions, three fumble recoveries and six special teams tackles.
Anderson, 6-6, 300 pounds, was drafted by the Colts in the third round (93rd overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. He started all nine games this season and registered 35 tackles (28 solo), 5.0 tackles for loss, 1.0 sack and two passes defensed. Anderson played in 48 games (35 starts) at Stanford and finished with 140 tackles (76 solo), 17.0 sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and seven passes defensed. He was named First Team All-Pac-12 (2014), honorable mention All-Pac-12 (2013) and Second Team All-Pac-12 (2012) in each of his final three collegiate seasons.
