The Indianapolis Colts today elevated tight end Erik Swoope to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and placed tight end Dwayne Allen on the Injured Reserve list.
Swoope, 6-5, 243 pounds, has spent the entire season on the Colts practice squad. He also spent the 2014 season on Indianapolis’ practice squad. Swoope originally signed with the team as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2014. He was a four-year standout on the University of Miami basketball team. Swoope started 27-of-110 games and totaled 291 career points, 186 rebounds, 37 steals, 31 assists and 25 blocks in 1,190 minutes.
Allen, 6-3, 265 pounds, played in 13 games (12 starts) for the Colts this season and totaled 16 receptions for 109 yards and one touchdown. He has seen action in 43 career NFL games (42 starts) and tallied 91 receptions for 1,045 yards and 13 touchdowns. Allen was originally drafted by the Colts in the third round (64th overall) of the 2012 NFL Draft.
