The Indianapolis Colts today signed tight end Brian Vogler to the practice squad.
Vogler, 6-7, 262 pounds, most recently spent the 2015 offseason and training camp with the Chicago Bears before being waived on August 11. He originally signed with the Bears as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2015.
Collegiately, Vogler played in 49 games at Alabama and totaled 17 receptions for 125 yards and two touchdowns. He won two National Championships (2011, 2012) as a member of the Crimson Tide. In 2014, Vogler saw action in 14 games and finished with six receptions for 27 yards and one touchdown. As a junior, he played in 12 games and set career highs in receptions (eight) and receiving yards (71) and scored one touchdown. In 2012, Vogler appeared in 14 games and caught two passes for 21 yards as he helped Alabama win their second-straight BCS National Championship. He played in nine games as a redshirt freshman and made one catch for six yards. Vogler redshirted as a true freshman in 2010.
