The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent tackle Mitchell Van Dyk and waived-injured guard Isiah Cage. If Cage clears waivers, he will revert to the Colts Injured Reserve list.Van Dyk, 6-7, 299 pounds, was signed by the Colts as a free agent on April 20, 2016 and waived on May 2. He spent the entire 2015 season on the Pittsburgh Steelers Injured Reserve list after being waived-injured by the team on September 5, 2015. Van Dyk was originally selected by the St. Louis Rams in the seventh round (226th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. He participated in training camp with the Rams in 2014, but was waived prior to the start of the season. Collegiately, Van Dyk started 31-of-37 games he played in at Portland State. He was named a Big Sky All-Conference first-team choice as a senior in 2013 and a Big Sky All-Conference honorable mention selection as a junior in 2012.
Cage, 6-5, 335 pounds, signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2016. He participated in Indianapolis’ three-day rookie mini-camp. Cage spent three seasons at NCAA Division III Wisconsin-Eau Claire, playing in 27 games (24 starts) and earning All-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference honors three times.
