INDIANAPOLIS COLTS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent tight end Konrad Reuland and waived tight end Nick Truesdell. 

Reuland, 6-5, 254 pounds, has played in 30 career NFL games (four starts) with the Baltimore Ravens (2015) and New York Jets (2012-13). In 2015, he spent time on the Ravens active roster and practice squad and saw action in four games (one start). Reuland spent time on the Colts and Ravens practice squads in 2014. In 2013, he played in 10 games for the Jets and caught one pass for seven yards. Reuland appeared in all 16 games (three starts) for the Jets in 2012 and finished with 11 receptions for 83 yards and one kickoff return for 14 yards. In 2011, he spent his entire rookie season on the San Francisco 49ers practice squad. Reuland originally signed with the 49ers as an undrafted free agent out of Stanford in 2011.

 

Truesdell, 6-5, 245 pounds, most recently spent time in the Arena Football League with the Portland Steel, where he recorded 15 receptions for 200 yards and eight touchdowns. He previously played for the Spokane Shock (2014-15) of the AFL and spent time with the Bemdiji Axemen and Colorado Ice of the Indoor Football League in 2014.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent wide receiver Andre Debose and placed wide receiver Brian Tyms on the Injured Reserve list. 

Debose, 6-0, 190 pounds, spent the entire 2015 season on the Oakland Raiders Injured Reserve list. He was originally selected by the Raiders in the seventh round (221st overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft before being waived on June 3, 2016.

 

Collegiately, Debose played in 42 games (eight starts) at Florida and finished with 29 receptions for 543 yards and four touchdowns, seven carries for 52 yards, 79 kickoff returns for 2,111 yards (26.7 avg.) and four touchdowns and 34 punt returns for 420 yards (12.4 avg.) and one touchdown. He owns the school record with four career kickoff return touchdowns, which is also tied for the Southeastern Conference record. As a redshirt senior in 2014, Debose played in 11 games and totaled 21 kickoff returns for 519 yards (24.7 avg.), 23 punt returns for 323 yards (14.0 avg.) and one touchdown and two rushes for 30 yards. He sat out the entire 2013 season due to injury. In 2012, Debose saw action in nine games (two starts) and tallied 18 kickoff returns for 510 yards (28.3 avg.) and one touchdown, 10 punt returns for 93 yards (9.3 avg.), three receptions for 15 yards and three carries for nine yards. He appeared in 12 games (four starts) in 2011 and finished with 19 kickoff returns for 495 yards (26.1 avg.) and one touchdown, 16 receptions for 432 yards and four touchdowns and one carry for four yards. In 2010, Debose played in 10 games (two starts) and totaled 21 kickoff returns for 587 yards (28.0 avg.) and two touchdowns, one punt return for four yards, 10 receptions for 96 yards and one rush for nine yards. He was named Freshman All-America by Sporting News and was selected to the 2010 SEC All-Freshman Team by the league’s coaches. Debose also made Phil Steele’s All-SEC first-team and was tabbed the nation’s top kick returner by CFPA.

 

Tyms, 6-3, 205 pounds, signed with the Colts as a free agent on April 7, 2016. He has appeared in 18 career NFL games (two starts) and contributed seven receptions for 94 yards and one touchdown in his time with the New England Patriots (2014-15), Cleveland Browns (2013) and Miami Dolphins (2012). Tyms has also seen action in one postseason contest.

The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent tight end Nick Truesdell and waived tight end Mike Miller from the Non-Football Injury List. 

Truesdell, 6-5, 245 pounds, most recently spent time in the Arena Football League with the Portland Steel, where he recorded 15 receptions for 200 yards and eight touchdowns. In 2015, he played in 16 games for the Spokane Shock of the AFL and caught 80 passes for 977 yards and 23 touchdowns. Truesdell appeared in nine games as a rookie with the Shock in 2014 and finished with 33 receptions for 355 yards and seven touchdowns. Prior to the AFL, he spent time with the Bemdiji Axemen and Colorado Ice of the Indoor Football League in 2014. Truesdell appeared in seven games with the Axemen and collected 28 receptions for 402 yards and nine touchdowns. He previously participated on a tryout basis at rookie minicamp with the Green Bay Packers in 2014. Truesdell earned an invite to the Cincinnati Bengals rookie minicamp and tried out for the Tennessee Titans in 2013. Collegiately, Truesdell spent time at Grand Rapids Community College in 2010 after transferring from the University of Cincinnati. He played in six games for the Bearcats in 2008.

 

Miller, 6-6, 255 pounds, was placed on the Colts Non-Football Injury List on July 26, 2016. He originally signed with Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2016. Miller played in 27 games (20 starts) at Taylor University and finished his career with 80 receptions for 959 yards and seven touchdowns after transferring following two seasons at Santa Monica College in California.

The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent running back Abou Toure. The team also placed running back Tyler Varga on the Reserve/Retired list from the Reserve/Did Not Report list. 

Toure, 6-2, 235 pounds, spent time on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardinals practice squads in 2015. He originally signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2015 before being waived during training camp on August 31. Collegiately, Toure rushed for 1,647 yards with 10 touchdowns in two seasons at UT Martin. In 2014, he posted the third-highest single-season rushing total in school history with 1,138 yards. Toure also contributed with eight total touchdowns and three multiple-touchdown performances on the ground. Before transferring to UT Martin, he spent time at Utah State (2012) and Dean Junior College in Massachusetts (2011).

 

Varga, 5-11, 225 pounds, originally signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2015. He played in three games for Indianapolis in 2015 and collected one pass for 18 yards, one carry for two yards and six kickoff returns for 151 yards. Varga was placed on the team’s injured reserve list on October 14.

The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent tight end Chase Coffman, placed running back Tyler Varga on the Reserve/Did Not Report list and waived cornerback Daniel Davie. 

Coffman, 6-6, 250 pounds, has played in 37 career NFL games (three starts) and caught 18 passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns in his time with the Seattle Seahawks (2015), Tennessee Titans (2014-15), Atlanta Falcons (2012-13) and Cincinnati Bengals (2009-2011). He has appeared in three postseason contests and collected one reception for 16 yards.

 

In 2015, Coffman saw action in two games and caught eight passes for 71 yards and one touchdown with Seattle and Tennessee. He also appeared in one postseason contest for the Seahawks. Coffman played in 13 games (career-high three starts) in 2014 and registered six receptions for 64 yards and one touchdown with the Titans. In 2013, he saw action in 11 games for the Falcons. Coffman appeared in five games with Atlanta in 2012 and caught one pass for 12 yards. He made his postseason debut in 2012 and collected one reception for 16 yards in two contests. In 2011, Coffman spent the entire season on the Bengals practice squad. He saw action in six games in 2010 and finished with three receptions for 30 yards. As a rookie in 2009, Coffman made the season-opening roster and was inactive for games 1-12 before being placed on the Injured Reserve list on December 9. He was originally selected by Cincinnati in the third round (98th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft out of Missouri.

 

Varga, 5-11, 225 pounds, originally signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2015. He played in three games for Indianapolis in 2015 and collected one pass for 18 yards, one carry for two yards and six kickoff returns for 151 yards. Varga was placed on the team’s Injured Reserve list on October 14.

 

Davie, 6-1, 190 pounds, was signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2016. He played in 42 games (18 starts) at Nebraska and tallied 67 tackles (46 solo), 6.0 tackles for loss, 11 passes defensed and two interceptions.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

The Indianapolis Colts today placed defensive tackle Henry Anderson and tight end Darion Griswold on the Physically Unable to Perform List. The team also placed safety Clayton Geathers and tight end Mike Miller on the Non-Football Injury List. 

Anderson, 6-6, 300 pounds, was selected by the Colts in the third round (93rd overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. As a rookie, he started all nine games he participated in and finished with 37 tackles (31 solo), 1.0 sack, 5.0 tackles for loss and two passes defensed. Anderson was placed on the injured reserve list on November 10, 2015.

 

Griswold, 6-5, 264 pounds, signed with Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2016. He played in 50 games at Arkansas State and totaled 65 receptions for 892 yards and nine touchdowns. In 2015, Griswold saw action in 13 games and finished with 13 receptions for 187 yards and two touchdowns.

 

Geathers, 6-2, 220 pounds, was selected by the Colts in the fourth round (109th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. He saw action in 15 games (two starts) and totaled 31 tackles (23 solo), one fumble recovery and one pass defensed. Geathers also ranked third on the team with eight special teams tackles.

 

Miller, 6-6, 255 pounds, signed with Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent on May 3, 2016. He played in 27 games (20 starts) at Taylor University and finished his career with 80 receptions for 959 yards and seven touchdowns after transferring following two seasons at Santa Monica College in California.

STATEMENT BY AN NFL SPOKESPERSON

Arthur Jones of the Indianapolis Colts has been suspended without pay for the first four games of the 2016 regular season for violating the NFL policy on performance enhancing substances. 

Jones will be eligible to return to the Colts’ active roster on Monday, October 3 following the team’s October 2 game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

 

Jones is eligible to participate in all offseason and preseason practices and games.

INDIANAPOLIS COLTS MAKE ROSTER MOVES

The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent tight end Emil Igwenagu and waived quarterback Josh Woodrum. 

Igwenagu, 6-2, 245 pounds, has played in three career NFL games (one start). He spent the entire 2015 offseason and training camp with the Detroit Lions before being waived during final cuts on September 5. Igwenagu spent the entire 2014 season on the Lions practice squad. He spent time on the Philadelphia Eagles active roster and practice squad in 2013 but did not see game action. As a rookie in 2012, Igwenagu played in three games (one start) for the Eagles. He originally signed with Philadelphia as an undrafted free agent on April 29, 2012. Collegiately, Igwenagu played in 41 games at Massachusetts and caught 75 receptions for 821 yards and four touchdowns.

 

Woodrum, 6-3, 231 pounds, was claimed by the Colts off waivers from the New York Giants on May 10, 2016. He started 44-of-46 games at Liberty and finished his career as the school’s all-time career leader in passing yards (10,266) and total offensive yards (10,690). Woodrum is second in Flames’ history in touchdowns passes (59) and career completion percentage (63.9).

COLTS SELECT LOCAL SCULPTOR FOR PEYTON MANNING STATUE

The Indianapolis Colts have commissioned local sculptor and fireman Ryan Feeney to create a statue of Peyton Manning, which will be installed outside of Lucas Oil Stadium in 2017.Feeney is the founder of Indy Art Forge, which creates custom sculptures and furniture out of metal. He has created numerous pieces of work around Indianapolis, including the Peace Dove sculpture for the Indianapolis library, the Fallen Deputy Memorial out front of the Marion County Jail and the bronze eagle at the Indianapolis 9/11 Memorial. The Peace Dove sculpture was unveiled in 2014 and features an 8-foot-tall eagle forged from 1,200 destroyed gun parts that included guns seized by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.

 

“Ryan Feeney is not only very talented, but also a great representative of our community,” said Colts Owner and CEO Jim Irsay. “I am excited to see this project begin.”

Feeney has been a firefighter for 13 years and with the Indianapolis Fire Department for the past 10.

COLTS SUPER BOWL XLI CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM TO BE RECOGNIZED AT NOVEMBER 20 HOME GAME AGAINST TENNESSEE

The 10th anniversary of Indianapolis’ first world championship will be recognized during a reunion with the Super Bowl XLI team at the Colts November 20 home contest against the Tennessee Titans. The reunion will include an introduction of the team to fans at halftime of the game.On February 4, 2007, Indianapolis became Super Bowl XLI champions with a 29-17 victory over the Chicago Bears. The club produced one of their more prolific offensive performances over the course of the season totaling 6,070 net yards (third in the NFL) and 427 points (tied for second in the NFL). Super Bowl MVP quarterback Peyton Manning threw for 4,397 yards and a league-leading 31 touchdowns as wide receivers Marvin Harrison (1,366 yards and 12 touchdowns) and Reggie Wayne (1,310 yards and nine scores) recorded the team’s third occasion with at least two 1,000-yard receivers. Running back Joseph Addai totaled his first 1,000-yard rushing season (1,081 yards) while adding seven touchdowns. Defensively, defensive linemen Robert Mathis (9.5) and Dwight Freeney (5.5) paced the team in sacks.

Tony Dungy became the first African American head coach to win the Super Bowl while improving his postseason win total to nine games. He led the Colts to become the only team in NFL history to open consecutive seasons with 9-0 records in 2005 and 2006.
