The Indianapolis Colts today elevated defensive end Kristjan Sokoli to the 53-man roster from the practice squad and placed defensive tackle Arthur Jones on the Injured Reserve list.
Sokoli, 6-5, 300 pounds, was signed to the Colts practice squad on September 26. He was originally selected as an offensive lineman by the Seattle Seahawks in the sixth round (214th overall) of the 2015 NFL Draft. Sokoli played in two games on the offensive line as a rookie for the Seahawks last season. He participated in Seattle’s 2016 offseason program and training camp before being waived on August 30.
Collegiately, Sokoli appeared in 46 games (25 starts) at Buffalo as a defensive lineman and registered 95 tackles and 2.5 sacks. In 2014, he started all 11 games and collected 32 tackles. Sokoli started all 13 games in 2013 and finished with 29 tackles and 2.5 sacks. In 2012, he played in 12 games (one start) and tallied 20 tackles. Sokoli saw action in 10 games in 2011 and recorded 14 tackles. He redshirted as a freshman for the Bulls in 2010.
Jones, 6-3, 320 pounds, started all eight games he appeared in this season and tallied 30 tackles (15 solo). He has played in 63 career NFL games (31 starts) and totaled 172 tackles (95 solo), 10.0 sacks and two forced fumbles. Jones was signed by Indianapolis as an unrestricted free agent on March 13, 2014.
