The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent tackle Arturo Uzdavinis and waived tackle Jerry Ugokwe.
Uzdavinis, 6-7, 305 pounds, most recently spent time with the Minnesota Vikings before being waived on July 26, 2017. He also spent time with the Detroit Lions and Jacksonville Jaguars during the 2017 offseason. In 2016, Uzdavinis spent time on the Jaguars and Chicago Bears’ practice squads. He originally signed with the Houston Texans as an undrafted free agent on May 6, 2016. Uzdavinis spent the 2016 offseason and training camp with the Texans before being waived on August 30.
Collegiately, Uzdavinis appeared in 48 games (36 starts) at Tulane. In 2015, he started all 11 games he played in. Uzdavinis started all 12 games in 2014. In 2013, he started all 13 games at left tackle. Uzdavinis saw action in all 12 games in 2012 after redshirting as a true freshman in 2011.
Ugokwe, 6-7, 321 pounds, signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 4, 2017. He participated in Indianapolis’ three-day rookie mini-camp and 2017 offseason program. Ugokwe started 42-of-43 games at William & Mary at left tackle and right tackle.
