Indianapolis-Colts-Draft-728x90

What’s up Colts Nation!? Yes it is Draft Day and yes Colts Fan Casey is back out of hibernation to ring in the real start of the 2013 season, the NFL Draft. It’s a little hard to get more excited about this year’s draft than last year’s considering the fact we drafted Andrew Luck with the first overall pick, but there’s a lot of reasons to be excited. One of those being that we go into the 2013 Draft without a laundry list of needs since we addressed the “BIG NEEDS” via free agency. I won’t talk too much about the free agency signings other than the fact I am VERY pleased with the direction that Ryan Grigson went with his acquisitions.

Now back to the Draft and more specifically Draft Weekend. The Colts have a lot of stuff going on for their fans throughout the next few days. Details below…

COLTS FAN CASEY: TEXANS PRE-GAME BLOG

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on December 29, 2012 – 7:24 pm

What’s up Colts Nation!? It’s another bittersweet day for me as this is my final pre-game blog of the regular season.

Sunday’s game will be one of the most memorable and heartwarming experiences of my Colts fandom. Coach Chuck Pagano leading the team in a game for the first time since September 23rd is one of the best presents anyone could ask for during the holiday season. I can’t wait for the moment when he comes out of the tunnel to undoubtedly a standing ovation. That place will be rocking!

However, as is customary I will be venturing out to the tailgating front despite the cold weather for the final time this season. It’s been such a memorable year for Colts Nation in so many ways, and in terms of tailgating it’s been no different.

As I’m sure you’re aware by now, I’m in search of the best tailgate in Colts Nation. Read full details here. But here’s the problem, I need you guys to tell me where to go! I should get things started around 10 AM tomorrow and I WILL be hungry! Think your tailgate has what it takes to win the “Tailgate of the Week” and be entered in the “Tailgate of the Year” contest? Then let me know where to come this week on Twitter and Facebook.

Here’s what you can win! Indianapolis_rgb

Special thanks again to Colts Grille, Honda Generators/Reynolds Farm Equipment, and Hoosier Momma Bloody Mary Mix for making this all possible!

COLTS FAN CASEY: WEEK 16 FANTASY FOOTBALL BLOG

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on December 20, 2012 – 4:54 pm

TB_stacked_Fantasy

What’s up Colts Nation!? I’m back for one of my last fantasy football blogs and this is the time of year where every single point can matter. Scratch that, this is the time of the year where every tenth of a point can matter. This is for all the marbles. That is, unless you’re me, and you’re playing for the championship in the “loser” bracket. Nonetheless, I still will go down fighting!

A few things to keep in mind over the next few weeks of fantasy football. Luckily for us all, there seems to be a lot of teams in the hunt for playoff spots and playoff positioning. This means we’re not likely to see teams “resting” players over the next two games of the season. Also, there are teams still fighting to get into the playoffs so if you have players on those teams (Pittsburg, Minnesota, and Dallas come to mind) be sure to start them.

Now for my “start em” and “sit em” picks of the week.

Week 16 Start em: Let’s stay at home and go with our boy No. 12 Andrew Luck. Coming off his two lowest passing yard games of the season, look for Luck to bounce back with authority against a struggling yet talented defense of the Chiefs. This is a statement game for the Colts and I look for Luck to make a statement of his own.

Week 16 Sit em: This one is a toughie this week with so much post-season implications heading into this week. So let’s look at a game where neither team is in the playoff hunt and start there…. How about San Diego Chargers vs. New York Jets? I think Shonn Green will have a bad week against the Chargers, he’s your sit of the week.

That’s it for me today; don’t forget to check out my homepage on Colts.com to see what I’ve been up to! (Especially my tailgate videos)

COLTS FAN CASEY: TITANS PRE-GAME BLOG

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on December 8, 2012 – 6:10 pm

What’s up Colts Nation? What a glorious day we have before us tomorrow! The Colts (8-4), yes the 8-4 Colts host the Titans in a divisional game where the horseshoe is looking for victory No. 9 and getting one step closer to the playoffs. I’m very excited for the game tomorrow and can’t wait to hear Lucas Oil Stadium rocking as always!

As far as football is concerned, I have a feeling the offense is going to perform very well this week. It’s the perfect setting for a good offensive game as Luck, Wayne and Co. have been rather impressive at home this year. I also think that T.Y. will continue to impress the league and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him get his fifth 100+ receiving yard game of the season. My fantasy team hopes that as well J

I also look for the defensive front to get after Titans QB Jake Locker as their offensive line has endured some big injuries as of late. It’ll be beneficial for us to get them in third and long situations to allow Mathis, Freeney, and our stable of linebackers to get after the QB.

Now, onto the pre-game festivities as you all well know tailgating that is the only way to start a Colts game-day. There’s a busy day full of tailgating awaiting yours truly tomorrow.

Aside from my continued search for the best tailgate in Colts Nation, I am also going to be visiting the guys from Tailgate 32. These guys are living any football fan’s dream. They’re traveling to all 32 NFL stadiums this season in an RV and throwing their own tailgates at each stop.tailgate32 You MUST check these guys out! Not only their website and some of their webisodes, but their FREE, yes I said FREE tailgate tomorrow taking place in the Blue Crew lot. Full info is available here.

I know it’ll be cold tomorrow, but I should be hitting the lots around 10AM and I WILL be hungry! Think your tailgate has what it takes to win the “Tailgate of the Week” and be entered in the “Tailgate of the Year” promotion? Then let me know where to come this week on Twitter and Facebook.

Special thanks again to Colts Grille, Honda Generators/Reynolds Farm Equipment, and Hoosier Momma Bloody Mary Mix for making this all possible!

So if you’re throwing a tailgate, let me know, and if you’re not, join the guys from Tailgate 32 at their tailgate and show them why Colts Nation is the best place in the entire NFL to tailgate. Join the conversation on Twitter and Facebook.

And as always, GO HORSE!

COLTS FAN CASEY: WEEK 12 FANTASY BLOG

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on November 27, 2012 – 4:08 pm

What’s up Colts Nation? Last night was a glorious night for myself and team “Colts Fan Casey” in the fantasy world. Finally, after 12 weeks, the man I drafted in the first round, Cam Newton, decided to reward me with a great 40 point performance in the Panthers 30-22 win over the Eagles.

Believe it or not, this win gets me back into the playoff hunt as we have two more weeks remaining before the playoffs start in our league. I need to win the rest of my games and need two people above me to lose out, but the good news is I play one of them in the final week so there’s a chance!

This week has been better for me in fantasy and I have to give credit to one of the best recent additions I made in Colts WR T.Y. Hilton. This guy did work for me in the New England game and gave me a solid 10 points this week as well. Too bad I didn’t get any points for his punt return, which would’ve been nice.

The best part about this week’s W is that not only did I score over 100 points, but I almost doubled the guy I was playing whose team name is “Domination.” Nothing dominating about his performance this week except that he got dominated.

I head into a tough match up this week, but I think I can stand a chance. I will be bringing you my sit ‘em and start ‘em picks of the week here in a couple days, but I had to fill you in on my great performance this week!

That’s it for me today; don’t forget to check out my homepage on Colts.com to see what I’ve been up to! (Especially my tailgate videos)

COLTS FAN CASEY: BILLS PRE-GAME BLOG

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on November 24, 2012 – 5:23 pm

What’s up Colts Nation!? After a two-game road stint, yours truly hits the pavement again this week still in search of the best tailgate in all of Colts Nation. My last outing was pretty solid with a big victory coming from the Colts Tailgate Response Unit.

Sunday looks like it will be one of the coldest tailgates of the season which means I’ll be looking for something to warm me up. As always I’ll have some Hoosier Momma Spicy Bloody Mary Mix to help you guys stay warm.

I should get things started around 10 AM tomorrow and I WILL be hungry! Think your tailgate has what it takes to win the “Tailgate of the Week” and be entered in the “Tailgate of the Year” promotion? Then let me know where to come this week on Twitter and Facebook.

COLTS FAN CASEY: WEEK 10 FANTASY BLOG

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on November 8, 2012 – 3:33 pm

What’s up Colts Nation! Well I finally did it. It only took eight weeks, but team Colts Fan Casey finally got a win! I must give credit to my late addition of Saints RB Pierre Thomas who might have only scored seven points, but those points propelled me to victory.

There are some HUGE matchups this week in the NFL which makes us fantasy footballers water at the mouth. With big games come tough decisions. You always hope that your players will show up when their number is called, but that’s not always the case.

I face a tough opponent this week who has the likes of Tony Romo, Arian Foster, Juilio Jones and Jimmy Graham just to name a few. I need a big week from all of my guys to stand a chance against this squad.

So let’s take a look at my “start em” and “sit em” picks of the week.

Week 10 Start em: This is a fairly obvious one, but I think that Ben Roethlisberger is a must start this week against the Chiefs. Roethlisberger is having one of his best fantasy seasons of his career and I think that trend continues this week as the Steelers head into a Monday Night Game against the 1-7 Chiefs. I’ll be starting him so I’m looking for a big game from BIG BEN!

Week 10 Sit em: I’m going with Michael Vick. This was a decision between him and Tony Romo but I think that Romo will show up more than Vick this week. Both of these teams need wins badly and both are led by their quarterbacks, but I think it’s safe to sit Vick this week as long as you have a decent backup.

Week 10 Random Thought: If you have a player in the Chicago vs. Houston game I would not start them. This is going to be a defensive battle. I think that both of these defenses are going be on showcase not the offenses. I would be a little bit leery about starting an offensive guy on either of these teams.

That’s it for me today; don’t forget to check out my homepage on Colts.com to see what I’ve been up to! (Especially my tailgate videos)

GAMEDAY EXPERIENCE ON COLTS.COM

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on November 5, 2012 – 10:21 am

What’s up Colts Nation!? We’re coming off a huge win yesterday and man was Lucas Oil Stadium rocking! So glad and PROUD to see our team come together and make a stand when we had to. Even more important and so much bigger than the win on the field was the post-game speech by Coach Pagano. More than the words he spoke, it was just pure jubilation to see his face and to see the way he lit up that locker room.

If you haven’t seen the video, you must take the time to watch it!

That video was a Colts.com exclusive! Which bring me to my next point, when it comes to post-game coverage there’s no better place to go than Colts.com or the Colts Mobile App. After each game the Colts bring you insider access unlike any other.

During the game, you can keep up with all the action at the Toyota Game Center which can be found on the homepage of Colts.com on every game day.

Following the game, the Colts have exclusive interviews titled Instant Access featuring a Coach, Andrew Luck, and player of the game interviews. The Instant Access interviews can be accessed through the site or through the mobile app.

Lastly, and my personal favorite, is the post-game locker room videos. Colts.com get unprecedented access to the locker room to hear what coaches and Colts CEO/Owner Jim Irsay has to say. None have been more special than this week’s talk.

So whether you’re sitting at home or at a local establishment during the game, log onto Colts.com or get on the Colts Mobile App for a game day experience unlike any other.

COLTS FAN CASEY: FANTASY BLOG WEEK 9

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on November 2, 2012 – 4:00 pm

What’s up Colts Nation!? It’s a great day to talk about some fantasy football and that is exactly what we’re going to do! There are some big games this weekend and some even bigger fantasy matchups.

Last week I witnessed what I watched opposing teams’ fans witness for 13 years. Peyton Manning single handedly beating your team while all you can do is sit there and watch. I headed into Sunday night’s game between the Broncos and the Saints with a 10 point lead. All I needed as for Marques Colston to not let Manning score 10 more points than him. Well if you saw any of the game you saw that Peyton put up 28 fantasy points. That one was a tough one to swallow.

So I head into this week’s matchup with a bit of optimism aside from a majority of my team being on a bye this week. But that stuff happens so I have to keep fighting and hope to pull out a victory.

Now for my “start em” and “sit em” picks of the week.

Week 9 Start em: I think that Brandon Marshall would be my start for this week. The Bears head down to Nashville to battle the Titans and I think this will be an opportunity for Cutler and Marshall to get back on the right track. Look for Marshall to put up big points this Sunday!

Week 9 Sit em: I’m going with Larry Fitzgerald on this one. He’s yet to be a stellar WR this year and has only put up 70 points in my fantasy league. They play the Packers who have been rather stingy in terms of wide receiver yards (minus that Reggie Wayne guy) and I think the same continues this week. Not to mention the Cardinals QBs haven’t exactly been great so far this season.

Week 9 Random Thought: This is a really random one, but I’m not a big fan of starting players that face the Colts. I decided to let go of Brian Hartline this weekend because he’s on the Dolphins and they’re coming in here. Not that I thought he was going to do anything special, but just because it doesn’t feel right starting a player against your team. So he’s not on my team any more.

That’s it for me today; don’t forget to check out my homepage on Colts.com to see what I’ve been up to! (Especially my tailgate videos)

COLTS FAN CASEY: WEEK 8 FANTASY BLOG

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on October 25, 2012 – 4:11 pm

What’s up Colts Nation? So I’m going to try a different approach for my weekly fantasy football blog presented by Taco Bell. Typically I talk about the previous week and a little about the upcoming week. So for this blog, I am going to talk about the upcoming week as you can guess I didn’t have great success last week.

This is a great week for me! The only bad thing, aside from having a bunch of Patriots on my team, is that Houston is on a bye and their defense has been very solid for me this year. It seems like a lot of my players are facing favorable oppositions this week which should bode well for my squad. Below I’ve attached my starting lineup for this week.

I feel really strongly about Big Ben as my QB against a Redskins defense that is giving up a lot of points. I also thing this should be a good week for Ryan Mathews who faces the Browns. I picked up Martellus Bennett prior to last week’s game and he has been a steal so far. I think he will put up good numbers against the Cowboys this week.

Now for my “start em” and “sit em” picks of the week.

Week 8 Start em: I’m keeping this one at home. I’m going with Colts QB Andrew Luck. I think that he’s done enough to prove that he’s a legit fantasy starter in almost every league. I’m even hearing a lot of people say that he should be your fantasy starter for the rest of the year. That’s fine with me. The Titans have been giving up double-digit points to every QB they’ve faced this year and I think this week is no different.

Week 8 Sit em: I’m going with Michael Turner of the Falcons and here’s why… The Eagles have been rather stingy with their rushing defense, not to mention Turner’s carries have diminished lately, and add in that Matt Ryan is playing the best season of his career. I think it’s safe to sit him.

Week 8 Random Thought: I look for tight ends to have a big weekend for fantasy teams. There’s a lot of good tight ends out there playing teams with subpar short yardage and interior pass defense, so look to get some points from your tight ends this week and if you have two really good ones, do some research on if you should start the other one in the flex spot if your league allows that.

That’s it for me today, don’t forget to check out my homepage on Colts.com to see what I’ve been up to! (especially my tailgate videos)
