COLTS FAN CASEY: BROWNS TAILGATE BLOG

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on October 24, 2012 – 9:50 am

What’s up Colts Nation? As you may know, before each home game at Lucas Oil Stadium I search the surrounding parking lots in search of the best tailgate around.

This week prior to the Browns game was no different. I had my man “Top Bird” hit me up on Twitter telling me about an annual tailgate called the “Swinging Chicken Beer Bong Extravaganza.” With a name like that, I had NO idea what to expect, but man did they show up big time!

The “Swinging Chicken Beer Bong Extravaganza”

The second stop of the day was south of Lucas Oil Stadium where a bunch of fans come together to make one big tailgate. I met up with two young guys from Columbus, Indiana who may be new to the tailgate world, but they are up-and-comers.

Want to see the spread, the music, and the all-out COLTSNESS!? There’s only one way to find out who won this week’s tailgate battle and that’s by watching the video right here!

One again, this would not be possible without the support of Colts Grille, Honda Generators/Reynolds Farm Equipment, and Hoosier Momma Bloody Mary Mix.

Don’t forget to check out my homepage to learn more about the Tailgate of the year contest and what else I’m up to!

COLTS FAN CASEY BROWNS PRE-GAME

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on October 20, 2012 – 5:57 pm

What’s up Colts Nation!? We’re less than 24 hours away from the Browns coming into Lucas Oil Stadium. i can’t wait to watch this team bounce back at home and get a W!

I’m sure you’re aware that we’ll be showing we’re #CHUCKSTRONG on game day, but before the game I want to see who is Tailgate Strong. As you saw in the video from the Packers game, the Blue Horsepower Express came out with a pretty impressive showing.

I’m sure that Colts Nation is going to bring it this week. Thanks to some help from Colts Grille, Honda Generators/Reynolds Farm Equipment, and Hoosier Momma Bloody Mary Mix I will be searching for the best Tailgate in all of Colts land. It’s easy to get my attention, simply tweet me or holler at me on Facebook.

The weather should be perfect, so bring your A game to the tailgates and I’ll bring a hungry stomach ready to devour some food. And of course I’ll have some  Hoosier Momma Bloody Mary Mix with me for you to sample!

Don’t forget to visit my homepage and watch my other tailgate videos!

WEEK 7 TACO BELL FANTASY FOOTBALL BLOG

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on October 19, 2012 – 3:25 pm

What’s up Colts Nation!? I’m back for another week of fantasy football talk. Last week was not too good for me and my fantasy career. It has not been the best year to be on the “Colts Fan Casey” fantasy team.

I feel like the powers that be are out to get me this season. I’ve never been this terrible in my entire fantasy football career. There’s really no explanation as to why whenever I play a team they have at least one play get crazy numbers.

Well that happened again this week. This week’s culprit was AJ Green, who my opponent had who happened to score 29 points on 135 yards and two touchdowns. It’s not good news when your opposition’s flex guy goes for more points than both your starting backs and your flex player. As you may recall from last week’s blog, I partook in a pretty monumental trade in our league.

As you can see below, it doesn’t help that I had two players fail to score any points. So this week I picked Felix Jones up off waivers and I am going to try to get my first win of the year.

Feel free to leave a comment below if you think there’s something I’m missing that is making my team struggle.

Now for my “start em” and “sit em” picks of the week.

Week 7 Start em: I have to go with a guy I went with earlier in the season but I think once again CJ Spiller is poised to have a big week. With Fred Jackson’s status uncertain it looks like Spiller will be the main back facing a rather forgiving Titans rushing defense.

Week 7 Sit em: I have this guy in another one of my leagues, a league I’m actually winning in, but I think that sitting Mathew Stafford this week against the Bears isn’t a bad choice. You always have to be careful with QBs, but if you have a sufficient backup, put them in the game coach!

Week 7 Random Thought: Since we’re almost midway through the season so now is a time to turn your attention from big name guys on subpar teams and look for consistent players on solid teams. Now is a great time to explore trade options as people might be willing to move guys in hopes to change things up heading into the playoffs. Look for guys on the perennial championship caliber teams.

That’s it for today. Don’t forget to visit my homepage and watch some of my tailgate videos.

COLTS FAN CASEY: WEEK 6 FANTASY BLOG

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on October 12, 2012 – 3:20 pm

What’s up Colts Nation!? Well it happened. I went to 0-5. I never thought I would be this low in my fantasy football career but I am in a deep valley. There’s nothing that I did this week that led to my demise. Instead, my opponent had Tom Brady, Victor Cruz, and Ahmad Bradshaw who combined for 71 points so that didn’t help my cause. You can see my scoring below.

So heading into this week I had to make a change. My philosophy heading into the season was to get top players regardless of their team, but that has seem to backfire on me a bit as the players aren’t getting the opportunity they should because their team is not in position to best utilize them.

Let’s look at Trent Richardson for example. He has been putting up decent numbers, but almost all of his points come in the first half. He had 15 points at halftime last week and ended the game with a total of 18. That’s because when his team is down, they’re passing the ball not running.

This prompted me to make a game changing trade and I did. I gave up Trent and Dwayne Bowe for Marques Colston and Stevan Ridley. I know what you’re thinking, “a Patriots guy!?” but I had to do it. He has been putting up great numbers.

Now for my “start em” and “sit em” picks of the week.

Week 6 Start em: I’ve never been really hot on this guy, but I think this is the week he gets it done. I am going to go with Phillip Rivers as your starter for the week. He’s projected big points, but he seems to play better when pressure is on him, and it’s getting pretty high after the loss to New Orleans last week.

Week 6 Sit em: Just because San Fran is playing so well right now, I think you should sit Eli Manning as long as you have a solid back up. I think the 49ers will be able to get pressure on him and maybe even force a few turnovers.

Week 6 Random Though: Beware who you start in your flex spot. You should use this as a way to get 10-20 extra points every week. Don’t just base it off projections, look at the opposition and how someone can match up against them. Use your flex player to help you solidify a victory week in and week out.

That’s it for today. Don’t forget to visit my homepage and watch some of my tailgate videos.

COLTS FAN CASEY: PACKERS TAILGATE

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on October 11, 2012 – 11:07 am

What’s up Colts Nation!? What a game to be a part of on Sunday! I think it was the best Colts game I have ever been at!  The crowd was electric and emotions were so high you could cut them with a knife. We did it for Coach P and we showed we were CHUCKSTRONG!  But before all of that happened, you know where I was… on the battlefield of tailgating.

I went west of the stadium this week and caught up with two different groups of tailgaters; the Corral and the Blue Horsepower Express. Both of these tailgates brought their A game, but at the end of the day only one would reign supreme, and there’s only one way to find out who won…

WATCH THE PACKERS TAILGATE VIDEO!

Special thanks again to Colts Grille, Honda Generators/Reynolds Farm Equipment, and Hoosier Momma Bloody Mary Mix for making this all possible!

WEEK 4 FANTASY FOOTBALL RECAP

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on October 4, 2012 – 3:27 pm

What’s up Colts Nation!? I’m back for another week of fantasy football talk. As you all know, I have been struggling a little bit this fantasy season and week four was supposed to be the week I bounced back. I thought to myself “no way will I go 0-4!” Well the week came and went and here I am sitting at 0-4.

This week’s downfall was due to a move that I made an hour before kickoff that I thought was a good move. I had been disappointed with Cam Newton’s performances lately and my other QB Ben Roethlisberger had a bye week. So I decided to take a leap of faith and pick up Christian Ponder who had been averaging more points than Newton and had played really consistently. That in addition to the fact they were playing the Lions, which had given up substantial passing yards, I thought it was a wise move. Not to mention that Newton was playing a Falcons defense that had played tough all year long.

Long story short, Ponder got me 4.94 (wasn’t even nice enough to give me 5) and Newton had 31.2 sitting on my bench. My opponent’s margin of victory was 23 which means if I would have started Newton I would have won.

I’m not down about it though because it’s setting me up for the best comeback in the history of fantasy football. I just have to win my nine remaining games to ensure that I will have a shot of making the playoffs. We’ll see how that pans out.

Now for my “start em” and “sit em” picks of the week.

Week 5 Start em: This is going to the guy I drafted in the second round that has yet to do anything for me this year, Ryan Mathews. I mean this guy isn’t even listed as the starter, but he’s the best back on that team. They’re facing the Saints which have been the team that is giving up the most points to running backs.

Week 5 Sit em: I think I am going to sit this guy even though he’s been solid for me all year which is why I have him here, Dwayne Bowe. The Ravens haven’t given up many, if any, big plays to wide receivers this year and I’m sorry but I don’t see Dwayne being the one who disrupts this defense.

Week 5 Random Though: Put some thought into the defense that you start. A defense can be the difference in fantasy football. Start making moves to ensure you have a defense that is not only good at minimizing points, but also that can force turnovers. I started the Texans last week and they got me 23 points. In most leagues, the 49ers defense scored around 33. So pay attention to the defense.

That’s it for today. Don’t forget to visit my homepage and watch some of my tailgate videos.

JAGUARS PRE-GAME BLOG

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on September 22, 2012 – 3:09 pm

What’s up Colts Nation!? It’s gameday eve and I’m getting pretty excited for the Colts to host the Jaguars tomorrow in front of the home crowd at Lucas Oil Stadium.

I’m even more excited to hit the tailgates prior to the game. I’m looking for the best tailgate around. I met up with two last week and we had one advance in the Tailgate of the Year contest. You can get the full run-down in my video right here. The Colts Disciples tailgate to the first week with a narrow 13-11 victory over the Terre Haute Colts Bus.

I want you to tell me where to come tailgate. I could choose my own spot every week but that’s no fun! If I come and visit your tailgate spot, then that means you’re in the running for the tailgate of the week. Essentially I’m look for three things; food tastes/spread, Colts integration, and overall impression. I will fill out a sheet that will grade each tailgate on the above mentioned criteria.

The tailgates will be featured in a weekly webisode on Colts.com that will showcase the tailgates of the week. At the end of the year, each tailgate of the week winner will battle for the tailgate of the year chosen by you the fans!

The top three vote getters will be brought the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center where they will have a “tailgate-off” for the Colts Up Close TV Show where host Jeffery Gorman will name an overall winner for the “Colts Tailgate of the Year.” The winning tailgate will win a Colts-themed Honda Generator compliments of Reynolds Farm Equipment in Fishers, Lebanon and Mooresville.

Special thanks again to Colts Grille, Honda Generators/Reynolds Farm Equipment, and Hoosier Momma Bloody Mary Mix for making this all possible!

Think your tailgate has what it takes to win the “Tailgate of the Week” and be entered in the “Tailgate of the Year” promotion? Then let me know where to come this week on Twitter and Facebook.

WEEK TWO FANTASY FOOTBALL RECAP BLOG

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on September 21, 2012 – 1:32 pm

What’s up Colts Nation!? It’s another week of the NFL season which means another week of fantasy football. As I said in last week’s blog, I got worked during week one, and this week I more than bounced back. Despite a losing effort, I was able to get the second highest point total in my league.

One of my downfalls this week came before the games even started. I was offered a trade from my week two opponent where he would give me Danny Amendola for Kevin Ogletree. Long story short, if I would have accepted this trade I would have won. Lesson learned.

Other than that I did pretty well. Thanks to Cam Newton for having a great game and I stuck with my guns leaving Trent Richardson in there and he obviously did pretty well.

If you remember my “sit em” and “start em” picks from last week, I was pretty accurate on these so let’s go ahead and look at this week’s picks.

Week 3 Start em: I’m going to go with Reggie Bush on this one. If you didn’t start him last week you’re probably kicking yourself. For an offense that has been struggling to get things going, I think that he might be their best option against a tough Jets defense.

Week 3 Sit em: I think it would be safe to sit Darren McFadden unless he’s your highest rated running back. I can foresee the Steelers defense shutting him down regardless of the game being play in Oakland.

Week 3 Random Though: If you have the option to, claim Andre Brown of the Giants off of waivers. He had a breakout game last night and he is only going to get better as the statuses of their running backs are not promising.

COLTS FAN CASEY: VIKINGS TAILGATE

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on – 11:14 am

What’s up Colts Nation!? What a beautiful day to be a Colts fan. We’re coming off a big win over the Vikings in front of the home crowd and heading into another game at Lucas Oil Stadium in front of our great fans.

I had a great game day this past Sunday! I was able to get down there early and head out to a couple tailgates. I made my first stop at the Terre Haute Colts Bus where they feature a cuisine common in that area of the state known as Sati Babi.

The second stop was at the Colts Disciples tailgate where they know how to party! Their motto is “We do it bigger” and boy do they do it big!

I’m going to be pretty brief with this blog because I want you guys to check out the webisode on Colts.com featuring the tailgate of the week winner.

Do you think the Terre Haute Colts Bus has what it takes to beat the Colts Disciples? There’s only one way to find out… Check out the video here!

Special thanks again to Colts Grille, Honda Generators/Reynolds Farm Equipment, and Hoosier Momma Bloody Mary Mix for making this all possible!

HOME OPENER PRE-GAME BLOG

Posted by ColtsCaseyB on September 14, 2012 – 2:14 pm

What’s up Colts Nation! It’s finally the weekend we’ve all been waiting for. Sunday, the Colts host the first game of the “New Era” in Lucas Oil Stadium. Now, I might be a bit biased, but I think Lucas Oil Stadium would have to be one of the hardest places to play in the entire NFL. A stadium full of 62,000+ screaming fans that blood flows as blue as the deepest parts of the ocean because we are COLTSTRONG!

As excited I am for the actual game, if you know anything about me I am more excited for the pre-game festivities that will take place on the asphalt surrounding the great Lucas Oil Stadium. Yes I am talking about tailgating. The new American past-time that has engulfed the culture as much as the game of football itself.

Thanks to some help from Colts Grille, Honda Generators/Reynolds Farm Equipment, and Hoosier Momma Bloody Mary Mix we will be searching for the best Tailgate in all of Colts land. Sunday is the first day that I will be on patrol! It’s easy to get involved, simply tweet me, use the #ColtsFanCasey hashtag, or holler at me on Facebook.

I want you to tell me where to come tailgate. I could choose my own spot every week but that’s no fun! If I come and visit your tailgate spot, then that means you’re in the running for the tailgate of the week. So let’s get things off to a great start! Holler at me and I might come see you on Sunday. Be sure to visit my home page at Colts.com/ColtsFanCasey.
