2013 OFFSEASON OUTLOOK: CINCINNATI BENGALS
Posted by on April 26, 2013 – 9:00 amThe final installment of the Colts 2013 opponent offseason outlook comes today with the Cincinnati Bengals:
Cincinnati Bengals 2013 Offseason
2012 Season: 10-6 regular season. 2nd in the AFC North
Key Offseason Additions: LB James Harrison
Key Offseason Losses: LB-Manny Lawson (Bills), DT-Pat Sims (Raiders)
2013 Draft Picks: 1-21, 2-37, 2-53, 3-84, 4-118, 5-156, 6-190, 6-197, 7-240, 7-251
Analysis: After starting 2012 with a 3-5 record, the Bengals rattled off seven wins in their final eight contests. That run earned them a Wild Card berth for the second consecutive season but once again, Cincinnati couldn’t overcome a road matchup with the Houston Texans.
Perhaps no team in the NFL was less active in acquiring unrestricted free agents this offseason than the Bengals. Numerous Bengals were re-signed and after back-to-back trip to the playoffs Cincinnati seems to have the right group to make a deeper run in the playoffs, along with capturing the AFC North.
The Bengals did lose a couple of veterans in the front seven of the defense. There is no glaring weakness across the roster and with three picks in the first 53 selections, expect the Bengals to once again bring in some quality talent.
