Eye on the Prize: AFC South Standings after Week 11

Posted by Kevin Bowen on November 18, 2013 – 10:22 am

Each week will take a look at the rest of the AFC South and review the previous weekend’s games.

Here is a look after Week 11:

Raiders 28, Texans 23

-It was yet another week of struggles for the Houston Texans. Starting quarterback Case Kennum was benched in the second half but Matt Schaub and the Houston offense saw a potential game winning touchdown drive stall inside the Raiders 10-yard line. Houston did have tight end Garrett Graham (7 catches for 136 yards) and wide receiver Andre Johnson (10 catches for 116 yards) record 100-yard receiving days. The loss is the eighth straight for the Texans.

NEXT GAME: Jacksonville, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EST

Colts 30, Titans 27

-The Titans jumped out to a 17-3 first half lead on Thursday night but could not hang on in trying to gain ground on the division leaders. Chris Johnson dominated the first two offensive drives with eight carries for 70 yards but was held to just 16 yards on nine carries the rest of the game. The Colts scored 17 straight points without the Titans touching the ball between the end of the first half and midway through the third quarter.

NEXT GAME: @Oakland, Sunday at 4:05 p.m. EST

Cardinals 27, Jaguars 14

-Carrying the momentum of their first win of 2013, the Jaguars got off to a great start on Sunday. Jacksonville led 14-7 at the end of the first quarter but the offense could not produce any points the rest of the way. Jacksonville was held to just two-of-14 on third-downs while quarterback Chad Henne threw two interceptions. The Cardinals, who host the Colts next week, were led by 419 passing yards by quarterback Carson Palmer.

NEXT GAME: @Houston, Sunday at 1:00 p.m. EST.
