The Indianapolis Colts today signed wide receiver Donte Moncrief. The team has now signed all five of its 2014 NFL Draft picks.
Moncrief was selected by the Colts in the third round (90th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. He started in 37-of-38 games at Mississippi and finished his career ranked third in school history in receptions (156), receiving yards (2,371) and receiving touchdowns (20). He also ranked second in 100-yard games with nine.
As a junior in 2013, Moncrief earned All-America honorable mention and All-SEC second-team accolades from The NFL Draft Report after starting all 13 contests and totaling 59 receptions for 938 yards (15.9 avg.) and six touchdowns. He ranked second on the team in receptions, while his receiving yardage ranked as the fourth-best single-season total in school history. In 2012, Moncrief led the team with a career-high 66 receptions, which ranked sixth in the conference, along with placing fourth in the school season record book. His 979 receiving yards marked the second-best total in a single season by a Rebel.

Mothers of youth football players invited to participate in football-filled day
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Colts will host their first-ever “Mom’s Football Safety Clinic” at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center on Sunday, June 1 from 1-3 p.m. The event will be centered on USA Football’s “Heads Up” initiative, which stresses the importance of league certification and tackling techniques to help ensure youth player safety.
The event will provide a unique opportunity for mothers of youth football players to learn first-hand from experts in sports medicine, hear from Colts/USA Football representatives, and hit the football field for a training session from Master Trainer Mike Haynes. In addition, Christine Golic, national “Heads-Up” spokeswoman and wife of ESPN commentator Mike Golic, is schedule to speak.
The “Mom’s Football Safety Clinic” is an event designed exclusively for mothers. There is no fee to attend. Mothers interested in attending are invited to pre-register for the event by visiting www.coltsmembers.com. All participants are encouraged to come dressed in active wear (i.e. tennis shoes and athletic apparel). On-site registration will also be available.

The Indianapolis Colts today signed free agent wide receiver Ryan Lankford and waived wide receiver Greg Moore.
Lankford, 5-11, 163 pounds, completed his collegiate career at Illinois with 70 receptions for 1,014 yards and seven touchdowns in 43 games played. As a junior in 2012, he led the team in receiving yards (469), receiving touchdowns (five) and total points scored (30), while finishing second in receptions (37). He earned the Illinois Point Award as the top offensive skill player on the team. In 2011, Lankford played in all 13 games (five starts) and totaled 12 catches for 108 yards. He also saw time as a punter, averaging 39.4 yards on 19 punts, and as a punt returner, returning 19 punts for 33 yards.
Moore finished the 2013 season at Lane College with 59 catches for 910 yards and 11 touchdowns en route to All-SIAC accolades. He also had three 100-yard receiving contests. Moore started 10 games as a freshman in junior college at Mesabi Range before transferring to Lane and starting nine contests as a sophomore.

The Indianapolis Colts today signed guard Jack Mewhort.
Mewhort was selected by the Colts with their first pick in the second round (59th overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. Mewhort competed in 49 career games at Ohio State University, making 39 consecutive starts to close his collegiate career. He lined up at left tackle for a combined 26 starts as a junior and senior while adding five starts at left guard and eight more at right guard his sophomore season.
As a senior in 2013, Mewhort served as a team captain and was part of a Buckeye offense that set school records for the most points scored (637), rushing yards (4,321) and total touchdowns (83). He was a consensus All-America selection and added second-team accolades from Walter Camp, The NFL Draft Report, The Associated Press, CBSSports.com, Sports Illustrated and the Football Writers Association in addition to being a first-team choice by ESPN. Mewhort was named a First Team All-Big Ten Conference choice and was a candidate for the Outland Trophy.

The Indianapolis Colts today signed inside linebacker Andrew Jackson.
Jackson was selected by the Colts in the sixth round (203rd overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. Jackson appeared in 37 career games (33 starts) at Western Kentucky University and recorded 326 tackles (174 solo), 6.5 sacks, 43.0 tackles for loss, one interception, five forced fumbles, one fumble recovery and four passes defensed. He became the 10th player in school history to record at least 300 career tackles and his total ranked 14th among active NCAA FBS players.
Jackson competed in the 2014 East-West Shrine Game and earned All-Sun Belt Conference first-team honors in two consecutive seasons (2011 and 2012). In 2012, he tallied 122 total tackles, which ranks first for a WKU player during the school’s Football Bowl Subdivision era (since 2009). As a senior in 2013, Jackson earned All-Sun Belt Conference second-team accolades after competing in 11 games (nine starts) and finishing the season ranked second on the team with 95 tackles, in addition to 1.0 sack, 8.5 tackles for loss and two passes defensed.

The Indianapolis Colts today waived tackle Erik Pike and cornerback Darius Polk.
Pike was signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 11, 2014. He was a four-year starter at left tackle for Towson and was a co-captain during his senior season. In 2013, Pike was named a Football Championship Series All-America selection as the Tigers compiled a 10-2 regular season record while reaching the NCAA FCS Championship Game. Pike also earned All-CAA first-team honors for the second straight season.
Polk was signed by the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 11, 2014. He was named to the All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) second team in 2013 after leading Kent State with seven passes defensed and ranking fourth with 60 total tackles. He was also voted as a defensive captain by his teammates.

The Indianapolis Colts today signed tackle Ulrick John.
John was selected by the Colts with their final pick in the seventh round (232nd overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft. John competed in 36 collegiate contests (25 starts) at Georgia State and was the school’s top lineman over the last two seasons (2012-13). He was a two-year starter at left tackle, but also logged starts at center and guard earlier in his career with the Panthers.
As a senior in 2013, John started 11 games at left tackle and was named an All-Sun Belt Conference honorable mention selection. In 2012, he started 10-of-11 games at left tackle and blocked for a Panthers offense that registered 110.5 rushing yards per game.
