The NFL today announced that Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has been named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 3. This marks the third time he has earned the award in his career.

Last week, Luck led the Colts to a 44-17 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars, as he completed 31-of-39 passes (79.5%) for 370 yards, four touchdowns and a career-high 140.4 passer rating. Luck and Pro Football Hall of Famer Johnny Unitas (Nov. 12, 1967) are the only players in franchise history to complete at least 75 percent of their passes for 350 yards, four touchdowns and no interceptions in a game.

Luck set a career-high in completion percentage, tied a career-high in touchdown passes and posted his third-highest single-game total in passing yards. With 31 completions, he passed Jim Harbaugh (746) for the sixth-most career completions in Colts history.

In the first half, Luck completed 22-of-27 passes for 244 yards and three touchdowns for a 141.4 passer rating. At one point, he completed 13 consecutive passes. Luck threw for three first half touchdown passes for only the second time in his career (10/20/13 vs. Denver) and his 244 passing yards was the second-highest total for a first half in his career (273 vs. Miami on Nov. 4, 2012).

Luck currently leads the NFL with nine touchdown passes, which is also tied for the highest total through three games in franchise history. For the season, he has completed 86-of-126 passes for 912 yards, nine touchdowns, three interceptions and a 103.0 passer rating.

Luck is the first Colts player to earn AFC Player of the Week honors this season. He previously won the award in Week 7 of the 2013 season and Week 9 of the 2012 campaign.
