The Indianapolis Colts today signed cornerback Tay Glover-Wright to the practice squad and released tight end Sean McGrath from the practice squad.
Glover-Wright, 6-0, 180 pounds, spent time with the Green Bay Packers during the team’s 2015 training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 5, 2015. He originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Atlanta Falcons on May 12, 2014. Glover-Wright spent training camp with the Falcons before being waived on August 24, 2014. He was signed to the Packers practice squad on October 6, 2014 and spent the final 11 weeks of the regular season and both postseason contests on the practice squad. Glover-Wright re-signed with Green Bay on January 20, 2015 before being waived at the end of training camp.
Collegiately, Glover-Wright played two seasons at Utah State. He played in 27 games (11 starts) for the Aggies and finished with 69 tackles (40 solo), 1.0 sack, 10 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Glover-Wright also contributed 105 rushing yards on 20 carries (5.3 avg.). As a senior in 2013, he started 10-of-14 games and registered 52 tackles (31 solo), 5.0 tackles for loss and ranked second on the team with 10 passes defensed. Glover-Wright also returned 19 kickoffs for 429 yards (22.6 avg.), which ranked sixth in the Mountain West Conference. In 2012, he saw action in all 13 games (one start) and totaled 17 tackles (nine solo). Glover-Wright also added 12 rushes of 66 yards (5.5 avg.). Prior to transferring to Utah State, he spent two seasons at Eastern Arizona Community College (2011) and Highland (Kan.) Community College (2010). Glover-Wright threw for 158 yards and two touchdowns, rushed for 684 yards and one touchdown, and tallied 20 receptions for 461 yards (23.1 avg.) and four touchdowns over his junior college career. He also registered nine kick returns for 243 yards (27.0 avg.) and a 98-yard touchdown return.
McGrath, 6-5, 259 pounds, was signed to the team’s practice squad on September 22, 2015. He spent the 2015 offseason and all of training camp with the Colts before being waived during final cuts on September 5. McGrath has played in 18 career NFL games (nine starts) and has caught 26 passes for 302 yards (11.6 avg.) and two touchdowns. He has also appeared in three postseason contests.
