The NFL today announced that Indianapolis Colts kicker Adam Vinatieri has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month. This marks the fourth time he has earned the award in his career (October 1998, September 1999 and November 2004) and his first as a member of the Colts.

Vinatieri converted all 11 field goal attempts in the month of November and was the only kicker in the league to record a perfect percentage with 10-or-more kicks. He also added 9-of-10 PATs for 42 points in the month, which ranked tied for fourth in the NFL and third in the AFC. He provided the game-winning field goal in a Week 11 contest at Atlanta and helped Indianapolis tally a 3-1 record in November.

In Week 8 at Carolina (11/2), his 50-yard field goal in overtime broke a tie with Jason Elam and Jason Hanson for the most overtime field goals made in NFL history with 10.

With his 43-yard field goal in Week 9 vs. Denver (11/8), Vinatieri passed Jason Hanson for the third-most field goals made from 40-49 yards in NFL history. He also connected on a 55-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. The kick was his longest as a member of the Colts, tied for the second-longest of his career and tied for the third-longest in Colts history.

In Week 11 at Atlanta (11/22), Vinatieri became the 10th player in NFL history to appear in 300 career regular season games. He converted a 43-yard field goal with 52 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to mark his 26th career game-winning kick in the fourth quarter or overtime.

He connected on all four field goal attempts in Week 12 vs. Tampa Bay (11/29), which marked the second time this season and the 19th time in his career that he finished a game with four or more field goals.

Vinatieri is the first Colts player to earn AFC Special Teams Player of the Month this season and the first since punter Pat McAfee won the award in September 2014. This season, McAfee earned AFC Special Teams Player of the Week (Week 3), while safety Mike Adams (Week 5) and cornerback Darius Butler (Week 9) each were named AFC Defensive Player of the Week.
