The Indianapolis Colts today waived inside linebacker Anthony Sarao and cornerback Darius White. The team also placed safety Dezmen Southward on the Injured Reserve list.
Sarao, 6-0, 235 pounds, signed with the Colts as a free agent on August 11, 2016. He originally signed with the Colts as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2016 and participated in the team’s three-day rookie minicamp before being waived on May 10. Sarao played in 54 games (34 starts) for Southern California and compiled 217 tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks, two fumble recoveries, one forced fumble, five passes defensed and two interceptions (one returned for a touchdown).
White, 6-0, 180 pounds, signed with Indianapolis as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2016. He played in 23 games (17 starts) in two seasons at California after transferring from Itawamba Community College. White recorded 87 tackles (53 solo), 2.0 tackles for loss, four interceptions, 15 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery with the Golden Bears.
Southward, 6-2, 210 pounds, signed a reserve/future contract with the Colts on January 5, 2016. He has played in 18 career NFL games and registered 21 tackles (14 solo), 1.0 sack, two passes defensed and one interception. Southward spent time on the Colts practice squad and the Atlanta Falcons active roster in 2015.
