The Indianapolis Colts today signed linebacker Luke Rhodes to the practice squad.
Rhodes, 6-2, 242 pounds, participated in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ 2016 offseason program and training camp before being waived during final cuts on September 3. He originally signed with the Buccaneers as an undrafted free agent on May 2, 2016. Collegiately, Rhodes started 45-of-47 games at William & Mary and finished with 341 tackles, 20.0 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, 19 passes defensed, six forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and one interception. He was a three-time First Team All-Colonial Athletic Association selection and received Virginia Sports Information Directors All-State honors three times. Rhodes participated in the 2016 NFLPA Collegiate Bowl after his senior season. In 2015, he started all 12 games for the Tribe and registered 78 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss, four passes defensed, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery. Prior to the season, Rhodes was the only Football Championship Series player to be named to the Butkus Award Watch List, given annually to the nation’s top college linebacker.
