The Indianapolis Colts today signed tackle Pierce Burton to the practice squad.
Burton, 6-6, 305 pounds, spent time with the Colts during the 2016 offseason before being waived on March 30. He was signed by Indianapolis to a reserve/future contract on January 5, 2016. Burton spent the final five weeks of the 2015 regular season on the Colts practice squad after signing with the team on December 1, 2015. He also spent time on the Carolina Panthers (Weeks 2-11) and Atlanta Falcons (Week 1) practice squads in 2015. Burton originally signed with the Minnesota Vikings as an undrafted free agent on May 10, 2014 and spent training camp with the team before being waived. Collegiately, he started all 26 games at right tackle in two seasons (2012-13) at Mississippi. Burton also played at City College of San Francisco and San Jose State.
